I realize that’s a strange way to begin so let me explain…
I created the Katya Love skincare line in 2020 …right at the beginning of the pandemic.
I remember packing and shipping the first orders myself …nervously driving to the post office and hoping I wouldn’t catch this strange new virus that seemed to change the world almost overnight.
We lived in Florida at the time.
Miami.
It was so hot there …and the lady at the post office was always so angry.
Probably because she was just as nervous and unsure as the rest of us.
I remember getting my first email from our first happy customer.
Maybe she thought she was writing the “support team” at our “big skincare brand” …
But in reality her email came to me.
See, we’re not a “Big Skincare Brand” at all.
At least not in the way some may think.
There’s no big office.
There’s no big team.
There are no investors.
It’s just me. And my family.
(I named this brand after my daughter, Katya Love Kern.)
She was five years old when I got that first email from our first happy customer back in 2020.
I still have that email …
And I still have the same passion for helping people feel great inside their own skin …
Passion for helping people look and feel amazing …
It’s what I love.
But Something Was "Wrong"...
In 2021, I noticed that all of my friends had different routines for cleaning their skin.
I was no different.
We all used multiple products, we all had a multi-step "skincare routine" that seemed to take forever ...
And none of us were happy with the results.
There Had To Be A Better Way
That’s when I first had the idea to formulate a new kind of cleansing oil using the same ingredients that I watched my grandmother use when I was a little girl in Ukraine.
She lived in a tiny village and she grew her own vegetables and herbs.
Her house was (and still is) tiny.
It didn’t have running water and it was heated by fire and coal …
The village was (and still is) barely more than a tiny speck.
Just a few roads with a few scattered families that have been there for generations.
No big stores …
No malls …
Nothing like that.
It's like going back in time.
And as a child, it was a place of wonder.
I would watch my grandmother make oils from herbs she grew herself.
She’d use them to heal my grandfather’s cracked hands after working outside in the freezing winter …waking up before the Sun and coming home long after dark.
She’d use them to heal me when I’d come in …scratched and bleeding from climbing trees and playing with my sister in the summer. (I was maybe eight years old.)
There were no chemicals.
No preservatives.
Nothing like that.
We didn’t even know those kinds of things existed!
And it was this kind of purity I wanted to create for you.
…So in 2021 I started working on it.
I Thought It Would Be Easy.
It Wasn't.
Today, almost everything we put on our skin has chemicals in it.
Even the raw ingredients like cucumber oil are almost always grown and created with chemicals.
Chemicals with names so long they’re impossible to pronounce.
